Adding BitmapFonts with Starling

When using Glyph Designer make sure you are exporting the .fnt file in XML format. Name the .fnt and .png files that are created, e.g.’Din” and specify this name in the TextField constructor. e.g. _textField = new TextField(60, 10, “Hello World”,”Din”,9 , 0x00d1da, false); NB Don’t specify the face name that appears in the .fnt

Underscores being added to variable names

Suddenly I was getting errors when embedding assets using the Embed API in AIR. It looks like this is a Flash CC issue as publishing with Flash CS6 there are no errors. Unfortunately the current solution is to reinstall Flash CC. Follow @crooksy88

After getting very fed up with needing to create so many icon sizes for the various devices and services these days I’ve created a handy PhotoShop action that will automatically create multiple sized icon files (8 bit pngs).
